The Unfading Light. Burial Service over Lay Persons, Byzantion Academic Choir's latest album, represents one of the most complex projects of the group. The album includes pieces of musical, liturgical and historical value, among which, certainly, one of the most important is Holy God composed by Manouil Dukas Chrisaphis , which was chanted, in the Byzantine tradition, during the procession from the house of the deceased to the church, and then to the grave.

The members of the academic choir “Byzantion” are delighted to announce the coming out of their first CD with traditional Romanian Christmas carols, that have been carefully selected from the folkloric treasury of Maramureș, Moldova, Transylvania, Wallachia and Bessarabia. Solo interventions, in a dynamic dialogue with groups of lads, seconded by ancestral sonorities provided by the traditional instruments of Romanian villages, invite you to embark upon a remote journey in time, to the realm of Christian and lay carols.
